Data ownership and securityKnow what is yours.
Know what is protected.
Know what travels with you.
Ownership should not be discovered during a dispute or cancellation. TradeStead separates the business assets you control from the hosted services that keep the live website and private workspace operating.
Plain-English boundaries for customer-controlled assets and subscription services.
Trust needs boundaries
“You own everything” is too vague to be useful.
A domain, a static website export, a live enquiry form, private customer records and a third-party review profile are different assets with different controls. A trustworthy agreement names those differences before the work begins.
Accounts under the right identity
Domains, Search Console, Analytics and relevant business profiles should be controlled through accounts the customer can access—not hidden inside an agency identity.
Private information stays private
Customer contact details, addresses, job records and photographs belong in protected systems. They are not exposed on public pages or sent into marketing analytics.
Exports must be usable
A promise to provide “the data” is meaningful only when records and photographs can be supplied in practical formats that another system or person can understand.
Security is layered
Transport security, browser restrictions, access controls, validation, backups and monitoring each reduce a different risk. One badge cannot replace that work.
The working route
Follow the information, not the slogan.
The controls change as information moves from a public visitor into a private business record.
- 01
Customer visits the public site
Pages use secure transport and restrictive browser policies. Optional analytics remains consent-controlled.
- 02
Customer submits an enquiry
The form validates bounded information, applies bot controls and uses protected server-side delivery rather than exposing private destinations.
- 03
The business receives a record
Accepted enquiry details enter the authorised private workspace and remain separate from public website content.
- 04
The job gathers evidence
Notes, photographs and operational history stay linked to protected customer and property records.
- 05
Connected services receive only what is needed
Integrations are scoped to a genuine workflow and must not turn customer information into general marketing data.
- 06
Exit separates assets from services
Agreed exports preserve customer-controlled material while hosted forms, integrations, monitoring and support conclude.
A practical promise
Independence includes a way out.
TradeStead is designed to reduce dependence on rented leads, but that principle must also apply to TradeStead itself. The business should understand the export route and the limits of the hosted service before joining.
Honest boundaries
Strong work.
No magic dust.
Security is risk reduction
No responsible provider describes any internet service as impossible to breach. Controls, recovery and honest incident handling matter.
Reviews stay on their platforms
Google and other review providers control the original review records. TradeStead does not claim ownership of those platforms or their data.
Live functionality needs live service
A static public-site export cannot reproduce hosted forms, the private jobs workspace, monitoring or connected integrations by itself.

Straight answers
Before you
make the move.
Who owns my domain name?
The trade business should control its domain and registration account. TradeStead can help configure it, but the business identity should not depend on an inaccessible agency-owned registration.
Can I export my customer and job records?
Yes. The service distinguishes the live workspace from the underlying business records and provides usable exports in accordance with the agreement and applicable data-protection obligations.
Does TradeStead own my photographs?
Photographs supplied or captured for the business remain customer-controlled material, subject to any third-party rights and permissions. Private customer images are not made public without an appropriate decision and authority.
Does an export keep the complete app working?
No. Data and static-site exports preserve customer-controlled assets, but the live forms, private workspace, integrations, hosting, monitoring, support and updates require the active service.
